Great book couldn’t put it down. Unfortunately, although the premise could have been good and followed on from the first novel, Bridesmaid Lotto, there was nothing in it. It drove me crazy how she wouldn’t just buckle down and get to work. I think Oon actually liked it better than the first because it had more of a storyline and substance. I was glad the Disaster Diary entries continued and didn’t stop after the first book.

For goodness sake, can you imagine a woman from Manchester in England writing a book about the deep south, such as New Orleans, or the midwest? I was a little hesitant to buy this second book and I really could have skipped this one.
Josie’s interactions with Mattie, Jennifer and Jake are part of what made the first book fun. At one point, she said that Jen was one of the most level-headed people she knows. This book gets 3 stars because overall, I liked the story.
All in all, my hopes for a better novel were dashed. No trivia or quizzes yet. I really liked the first book in the series, so I read the second Gamble on Engagement. But things resolve sweetly and there’s a wedding in our future! The engagemfnt client is hardly present enough to take their place and the client is no Jake, or Matt.
